Worlds Best Paleo Gravy Recipe

This recipe is taken from Brittany Angell's realsustenence.com. It had some great reviews, so I think it's definitely worth trying. Plus, with a name like that, how could it go wrong? 

Ingredients are completely grain-free, sugar-free and paleo approved.

Changes

  • The only things that I would add or change to the recipe is the almond flour and the chicken broth
  • If you're already cooking a turkey, just use some of the juice from the bottom of the pan. This is a great way to save money and be less wasteful. 
  • Just use more arrowroot powder. It has a neutral flavor. At home, we use arrowroot powder to thicken most things and in place of baking soda!
  • Consider adding butter or lard to the pot. It will add more flavor and nutrients to your gravy.


The Purpose of Gravy

The gelatin and fat in stock and lard are high in Vitamins A & D, which helps the body to fully utilize protein in the body. That is why gravy has traditionally been paired with meat.
